On the 23rd August 2013 we will begin what will be a gruelling, three day cycle from London to Paris, taking advantage of the newly construed ‘Avenue Verte’ cycle route which takes you from London to Paris with the aim of avoiding any major roads! This will begin with a 77 mile ride from London St Pancras down to Newhaven in East Sussex, which we aim to complete within 10 hours. Providing we have survived this far, it’s dinner followed by a four hour ferry ride through the night, arriving in Dieppe, France at around 4am on Sunday morning.
After breakfast and a quick morale boost, leg two of the
journey begins. We join the French part of the Avenue Verte and journey from Dieppe through to Gournay-en-Bray,
a 45 mile ride through some stunning countryside.
After a very good nights sleep, the final leg of the journey
begins, a 53 mile stretch from Gournay into Paris.
This will be after three days and contains what we have been
warned are some ‘significant climbs’. We don’t like those words, but we’re sure
our years of expertise will help us through…!
We will be following this route in England and this route in France.
